I used to feel the exact same way. I would spend so much time scrolling through Instagram wondering how in the world young people traveled to so many places and for so long. I grew up thinking travel was a luxury thing you did once you retired, if that was even an option. But then in my early 20’s, I stumbled upon a travel vlog of backpackers called Global Degree, and from then on went down a rabbit hole of researching ways to travel for cheap. When I saved up my money to go but no friend’s schedule or interest aligned with mine, I said screw it and went alone.
In 2019, I created this blog in the middle of a 6-month solo trip to inspire others with my adventures around the world and provide them with the tools to travel too, even if it means going alone and without a lot of money. This blog is for the solo travelers, the traveler’s on a budget, the dreamers, and the adventure seekers.

As my blog name entails, my name is Caroline, I’m in my 20’s and from Fairfax, Virginia. I grew up as the 5th of ten kids, homeschooled and in a conservative family who never left the U.S. and rarely left our own state (if we did it was to go to our neighbors North Carolina for a beach trip). Like I mentioned above, in the early years of my life, I had really limiting beliefs surrounding travel and what was possible for my future. But when I graduated college, and I felt the freedom to make my own decisions, I desperately wanted more out of life. So I took a huge leap and accepted a 3-month internship in South Africa. That was my first trip abroad and it absolutely changed my life. From then on, I started my journey to create my ideal lifestyle, one full of travel and adventure.
