More about this insane spot 👇 Marsur Rock, loc More about this insane spot 👇 Marsur Rock, located in Skardu, Pakistan has become an iconic place to take “theeee” photo. But not without a little work… To get here, you’ll only need to hike about 2.5 km / 1.5 mi (one way), but in that short span of distance you’ll climb about 800 m / 2,625 ft all the way up to 3,300 m / 10,828 ft. It’s a steep one 😅Because of this it can take a bit. We took a little over two hours to go up. It’s just one foot in front of the other but can take awhile if you’re having a difficult time breathing with the elevation. But in my opinion going down was so much worse. Because of the harsh decline you have to be careful of your knees, slipping, and there’s dust in your face the whole time. At Marsur Rock itself, it can be really windy. The rock itself is wide enough to sit and stand on but it’s tilted sideways making your standing base pretty uneven. Usually I feel like spots like these are more of an illusion to the danger, but here I actually really felt like I could fall. Don’t forget to find gratitude even in uncomfort Don’t forget to find gratitude even in uncomfortable times 🌧️ After hiking a steep route and being in the sun for nearly 7 hours at high altitude, we finally made it back to the trailhead. Dehydrated, hungry, headache, sore body, and covered head to toe in dust...being out of sorts and agitated was a more than valid response in this moment. But making our way down I reminded myself of the beauty in the situation. With my hands in the grass and the wind in my hair, I ignored the blister on my foot and frolicked like a kid behind my un-phased mountain goat of a guide. The simple practice and choice to notice the small things changed the whole experience. Instead of ending the day succumbed to the painful exhaustion, I thought of the amazing opportunity l’ve been given to complete this hike and to be in Pakistan. I felt grateful for my body and its capabilities and for the small beauties of life like the grass against my palms. Like others before, this very simple lesson learned on a trail is one that I find myself applying to my life. In moments of mental disarray and harsher life lessons, gratitude is always what brings me clarity. Being told to have an abundant mindset is not something l’ve totally understood how to do based solely on this kind of abstract prompt. But when I look around and tell myself to notice all the beautiful and good things, that’s when I understand. It doesn’t cancel out the situation you find yourself in, but it does show you a blooming path to move forward. Today and everyday, find something you’re grateful for 🫶

I’m tellinggg you, you need to start prioritizin I’m tellinggg you, you need to start prioritizing curiosity in your life. You’ve a got a body to move and a mind to learn, just start trying and doing things. You’ve got places to see and a bucket list waiting, just take the trip on your own. I don’t know about you, but I want my life to be a collection of experiences. Some things will stick, others won’t. But at least I got out there and gave the things I wanted a go. Because why not 🤷‍♀️
