My home country! When it comes to adventure and travel, the U.S. is rich in opportunity. This massive country is 3.797 million square miles to be exact, and home to some of the most dramatic landscapes in the world, each unique in their beauty. It has 58 national parks, 10,234 state parks, and 19,495 cities. From blue beaches to towering mountains to foodie cities, the U.S. has something for every type of traveler. And I know I may be biased, but I love exploring the U.S., it’s heaven on earth for any nature addict.
Unfortunately, visiting the U.S. can be difficult for many people around the world, and simultaneously its own citizens often take for granted the natural beauty at their finger tips. I was once guilty of this myself. At the beginning of my wanderlust I was so eager to travel to other countries to see the world. Meanwhile, I had not even explored a small percentage of my home country. With that realization, in 2018 I took a 3 month road trip around the U.S. and have continued to explore on shorter trips.
One thing I’ve learned about traveling the United States is that there’s even more beauty out there than I could have ever imagined. Of course there are some iconic landscapes like Zion and Yosemite, but there’s even more beauty to be found in relatively unknown places. That’s one reason why I love exploring the U.S., it’s an adventure that keeps on giving.
